Sydney Simpson is an award winning vocalist, songwriter, and certified vocal coach currently based in Austin, TX. Her musical roots stem from an upbringing of musical theater, singer-songwriters, pop, jazz, and classic rock—all of which keep her vocally on her toes crossing back and forth between genres. Sydney enjoys exercising this as a lead vocalist and songwriter in the upcoming original 80s pop/rock band “Goons” and as a vocal coach to individuals and groups across Central Texas and beyond. Led by her motto that “to create is to be human”, she seeks to inspire and encourage others to place value on their voices and creative instincts, believing that this leads to greater respect and empathy for the voices and creativity of others.

Sydney graduated with a B.A. in Music Business from Florida State University in 2013, and then proceeded to spend 4 years abroad in Sydney, Australia gaining live music production experience and leadership training through Hillsong College. Having grown up in a military family, she traveled extensively throughout her childhood and enjoyed diverse performance opportunities across the U.S. and internationally. Her vocal experiences as a student and a professional have crafted her into a well seasoned veteran of both stage and studio, and she enjoys guiding other vocalists into their own confidence no matter what singing environment they choose to pursue.

Alongside her love for singing, Sydney is an avid theater and film fan and enjoys developing her growing edge as an actress. When off of the stage or out of the studio, Sydney can be found frequenting a cozy coffeeshop, perusing for vintage threads, or having a meaningful conversation with her family and friends who make life worthwhile.
